It wasn’t long after the Tunnel Springs, now Burnt Corn, Alabama sunrise signaled for a king, Willie Earl Watson, to be born. With his bright, wide, brown eyes, a loud cry signaled the 10th birth of Bessie Lee Daily and Frank Lee Watson, united as husband and wife embraced their newborn.
Years would slowly pass as Willie continued to run, jump and play in the brown dirt roads of Burnt corn. It was here a message was received in which guidance was planted as a small yellow mustard seed.
With a vision deeply implanted within a brilliant mind, travel from Burnt Corn to New Jersey became prevalent. It was here his strong poise and loving nature met the approval of his wife Elizabeth. It was together a happy, joyful noise of 4 small pitter patter of two girls and two boys illuminated the home.
His will to love and provide for his family led him to Jersey City Public schools, Maxwell House, BASF and East Orange Memorial Hospital. A handshake, headnod or a gentle smile presented a heart of gold which could be felt miles away.
Yes, Willie Earl Watson came in with a loud cry and continued this loud cry unto the lord as an ordained minister. His ministry continued to shine light and glory on all who were within ear shy of his voice. His poise and strong demeanor held a steady hand in delivering the word of the lord.
His journey of love for others, was now inwardly turned. Due to illness, his journey led him cross county to the state of Arizona. It was here he proved, “The battle is not his, but the lords.” Regardless of what Rev. Watson endured, he persevered. What is considered a normal life when abnormal is the norm? Rev. Watson knew, with a comforting hello, inspiring bass full voice, with an encouraging, “Don’t Worry, gave profound hope.
Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Mesa, Az opened their doors to the ministering force of Rev. Watson. It was here the warmth of the lord continued to cover and embrace Rev. Watson once he became ill. It was during this time he continued to share his undying love for the lord.
It was shortly after the midnight turn of the Arizona clock, he was met with his 8 other siblings, mother and father. Arms stretched wide, with love, and a strong sense of peace, Rev. Watson renounced his throne as King and walked proudly with his family into the pearly gates of heaven.
Rev. Watson leaves behind Elizabeth, Brother James, Daughters: Anjanette and Gwendolyn, Sons: William and Kenneth. Grandchildren: Tatianna, Kyere, Anissa, Taniyah, Isaiah, Kenneth Jr. and Amelia. Great Grandchildren: Syrus, Orion, Anri, Xantanna, and Willow. Inlaws: Paula, Teresa and Dexter.
