Virginia Zamorano
February 16, 1943 – September 13, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Virginia Zamorano, 81, of Casa Grande, AZ, a cherished and devoted mother, and beloved Nana, who left us on September 13, 2024.
Virginia was a beacon of love and generosity, known for her boundless kindness and selflessness. Her greatest joy in life was her five grandsons, who were the center of her world. Virginia's love for her family was evident in everything she did; whether she was cooking great meals, baking beautiful cakes, or organizing memorable gatherings. Her kitchen was a haven of warmth and comfort, and her culinary skills made every occasion special.
A true sports enthusiast, Virginia's passion for sports was unmatched; she followed games with enthusiasm, kept up with schedules and stats, she loved attending events in person, and sharing her excitement for her teams/players with everyone around her.
Virginia's spirit of giving and her unwavering support for those she loved made her a treasured presence in the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and her loving heart will continue to inspire us all.
Virginia is survived by her son, Gilbert Zamorano Jr.; daughter, Anna Medel (Rob); grandchildren, Robby and Nick Medel, Michael, Brandon, and Austin Zamorano; brothers, Carlos, Phillip, and Mark Martinez, Jesse Moreno, as well as Guillermo and Rocky Garcia. She is also survived by her sisters, Stella Ramirez, Connie, and Caroline Martinez; Esther Torrez, Mary Mendoza, Julie Baca, Kathryn Ramirez, Sylvia and Dolores Garcia.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Gilbert Zamorano Sr.; father, Carlos V. Martinez; mother, Margaret Martinez; grandparents, Jesus and Clarita Martinez; mother, Mary Leyva; sisters, Teresa Marquez, Angelita Moreno, Elenor Diaz, Betty Mathews, Lydia Dominguez, Beatrice Garcia; and brothers, Raymond Garcia and Anthony Moreno.
Rest in peace, Nana. Your loving spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held privately, in accordance to her wishes.
