Verla Vernette Kimberlin

Verla Vernette Kimberlin passed away on September 13, 2023 at home with family at her side.

She was born at home in Willmar City, Minnesota to Lester and Nettie DeLong on July 28,1931.

 As the story has been told her twin brother Virgil kicked her out first to make sure it was safe to come out. She moved to Casa Grande, AZ in 1944 and started 7th grade. As soon as Zane H Kimberlin walked into class that first day she said he’s mine and told Virgil to become his best friend so she could get closer to him. Her and Zane H Kimberlin married in their senior year of high school and had two children Loredia (Lori Maeder) and William (Bill Kimberlin). She worked for the Casa Grande Bakery for four years, George Y Wahs Grocery for three years, for a short time was able to be a stay at home mom, finally going to work for the UofA Cooperative Extension Service until she retired in 1998 at the age of 67. The things she loved the most were reading a good book, embroidering and quilting with the Lutheran Lady’s Guild. She loved her husband deeply and cherished her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She had 2 children, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Nettie DeLong, her sisters Idella DeLong and Viola Reigstad, her twin brother Virgil DeLong, her son William L Kimberlin and her husband of 69 years Zane H Kimberlin.
