Sara Rodriguez Martinez

ELOY - Sara Rodriguez Martinez, 59, of Eloy died peacefully on July 3, 2016, at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, with her family by her side.

Ms. Martinez was born on Nov. 13, 1956, in Eloy. She graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School in 1974 and worked for many years as a waitress at La Gardenia Cafe, Mickey’s Cafe, El Sarape Rojo, Lucero’s Ballroom and Taqueria Rodriguez. She had a passion for music and loved to dance. She treasured her years as a caregiver for the Hollenbach family.

Survivors include a daughter, Shelsea Casarez of Eloy; her mother, Sara T. Rodriguez of Eloy; and four brothers, Valentine T. Rodriguez of Coolidge, Albert T., Ramiro T. "Ronnie" and Perfecto T. Rodriguez, all of Eloy. She was preceded in death by her father, Valentin V. Rodriguez.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 by the Rev. Abran Tadeo, assisted by Deacon Pat Abiles. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
