COOLIDGE - Romana Leyva Valencia, 80, of Coolidge died Oct. 20, 2007.


Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the family residence, 404 W. Seagoe Ave. in Coolidge. There will be a graveside service at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Valley Memorial Park. The service will be officiated by Pastor David Eccles.

Mrs. Valencia was born Aug. 9, 1927 in Santan and was a daughter of Juan and Maria Leyva. She was a farm laborer for many years and was a very hard worker. She loved life, enjoyed cooking and was known for her tamales. She loved animals of all kinds and grew nice flowers. She also enjoyed dancing. She was very religious and raised her family to have respect and good moral values.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jose Lopez Valencia; five daughters, Maria Anna Valencia-Alvarez of Porterville, Calif., Esther V. Martinez of Phoenix, Angie L. Valencia, Josephine L. Valencia and Virginia V. Gomez, all of Coolidge; three sons, Rosario M., Estanislao and Antonio L. Valencia, all of Coolidge; 67 grandchildren; 112 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Jose Ramon, Carlos and Francisco L. Valencia; a daughter, Elisa L. Valencia; and two brothers, Manuelo and Marcello Leyva.

J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
