Robert Amado was born in Casa Grande, Arizona, to Gilardo and Francisca Amado. From an early age, Robert demonstrated a deep dedication to family, community, and country. He proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed during the Vietnam War, embodying the values of honor and sacrifice that would define his life. Upon returning home, he pursued his education, first at Central Arizona College, then Northern Arizona University, ultimately earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix.
In 1974, Robert married Julie, the love of his life, beginning a journey filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together, they raised two cherished children: Steven (Amy) Amado of Boise, ID, and Roberta (Mark) Sullivan of Casa Grande, AZ. Robert and Julie's family grew with the blessing of six beloved grandchildren—Kayla Garvey, Conor Sullivan, Avery Amado, Carter Amado, Judah Amado, and Harper Sullivan —each of whom brought him immense joy. Robert reveled in every opportunity to support and celebrate his grandchildren, attending dance recitals, baseball games, High School/College football games, Folklorico performances, and more. Whether near or far, he kept up with their lives and accomplishments, always beaming with pride.
A dedicated NASCAR and New England Patriots fan, Robert was known for his spirited personality and his love of time spent with loved ones. He delighted in sharing stories, laughter, and moments with family and friends, particularly enjoying the company of his siblings, nieces, and nephews. Robert found fulfillment in his career as the Senior Accountant for Casa Grande Union High School District, where he served for 17 years until his retirement. In retirement, he continued to give back, serving as Treasurer for Ira H. Hayes Post #84 in Sacaton, Arizona.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Julie, his children Steven and Roberta, his siblings Ralph (Pat) Amado, Mercy Dickey, Roy (Armida) Amado, Richard (Gloria) Amado, Rosalie Amado, and Bonnie Amado all of Casa Grande, Arizona. He is predeceased by his beloved parents, Francisca and Gilardo, and beloved brothers Ruben and Rex Amado.
