Reynalda D. Shaw, aged 88, peacefully passed away at her residence June 24, 2024, in Sacaton, Arizona, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 11, 1936, to Albert and Minnie Miguel and spent her upbringing within the Gila River Indian Community. Reynalda was very fluent in the O'otham language, something that will be dearly missed by her family.
Her educational journey included schooling in Sacaton and St. John's Indian School, where she received a strong Catholic foundation. Later in life, she felt a calling to serve the elderly within nursing homes, notably at Mesa Christian Nursing Home, from which she retired. Additionally, she dedicated herself as a homebound Minister within the community for elders, with St. Anthony's being her cherished place of worship where she actively participated in cursillitas.
Reynalda was characterized by her great sense of humor and had a deep love for her family, church family, and crusillo brothers and sisters in Christ. She is survived by her daughters Carol Jackson, Joella Antone, Andrea Shaw; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Milton Shaw, sons Delton Shaw and Doyle Shaw, as well as 5 grandchildren. Now reunited with her departed loved ones, Reynalda has found eternal peace.
