Raycita Ann Reed (Cosen) passed away on Friday February 23, 2024 surrounded by her loving sisters and niece.  Raycita was born May 25, 1948 in Whiteriver, AZ to Phillip and Bertha (Altaha) Cosen. Raycita was known to her family in Whiteriver as Ann. She attended Whiteriver Elementary School, then made her way to St. John's Indian School in Laveen, AZ. Where she graduated from in 1968.  While at St. John's she met Shelton  "Budgie" Reed, and they were married on October 19, 1968. From then on she lived on the Gila River Indian Community in San Tan.  She had two Children Christopher Reed and Rose Reed. She also raised a nephew from birth Timothy Cosen.

Raycita enjoyed taking care of her family. She took care of her younger brothers and sisters as they grew up. She has helped babysit for her many nieces and nephews and her God Children. She loved her two grandchildren Travis Reed and Devon Fahnholz. Ann took care of Devon who needed special care before he was moved in to a group home for special needs children. Raycita was a very strong independent woman. She loved to cook and make tortillas and popovers (fry bread). She also made prize quilts when she was able to. In between family life you could find her cutting and measuring material, sewing. Don't know how she did it, but she did it. Orders would come from all over, for her quilts.  Raycita was always generous helping out anyone in need. She helped out at birthday parties, marriages, and church events.

Ann really loved everyone that she was constantly praying for everyone and the whole world. She had numerous prayer books and religious articles that she loved to read. She also believed in her Apache tradition. She would be found praying in her Apache tongue, and she loved to help out with the Sunrise Ceremonies.
