Phillip J. Lamar

ARIZONA CITY - Phillip J. Lamar, 65, of Arizona City died Sept. 17, 2007 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.


Inurnment will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.

Mr. Lamar was born Sept. 14, 1942 in Chicago. He served in the Army and retired after 20 years. He also worked for Civil Service, for the Internal Revenue Service and as a federal police officer at the Presidio of Monterey, Calif. He enjoyed fishing and loved his family. He also enjoyed working on his computer.

Survivors include his wife, Lola; a daughter, Sunme Lamar Garcia of Casa Grande; a stepdaughter, Debra Mitchell of Arizona City; three sons, Walter Lamar of Texas, Phillip Lamar Jr. of California and Kyle E. Lamar of Arizona City; and six grandchildren.
