Oscar E. Rodriguez

Sergeant Oscar Espinoza Rodriguez, 78, of Coolidge, peacefully passed away January 3, 2022, in Casa Grande, Arizona. Oscar was born March 20, 1943, in Brawley, California to Conception and Frances Rodriguez. Sergeant Oscar Rodriguez was a proud Vietnam Army Veteran of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Oscar was a pillar to his community who wanted to honor those who served our country past, present and future. Oscar was the founder and creator of the Military Honor Wall, Military Honor Park, and president of the Coolidge Veteran’s Commission. Oscar was the creator of the first Veteran’s Day parade and had Memorial Day ceremonies at his Military Honor Park in Coolidge, AZ. Oscar was also a member of many military organizations. Oscar was supported by many veterans from all over the world. Oscar not only got his wings, but a special golden airborne pair that will take him farther, faster, and mightier than most. Godspeed Oscar, our veterans got it from here. We’ll see you in the Heavens where I’m sure your great work for all Veterans will continue. Oscar will make a great angel. Oscar was a loving husband, father, tata, brother, uncle, friend, and American Hero. Oscar will be greatly loved and missed, and we know that he will be protecting and watching us from heaven.
Oscar is survived by his wife, Lillian of Coolidge, his sons Michael ( Brenda) Rodriguez and Richard (Felicia) Rodriguez of Coolidge, his siblings Isabel, Jeannie, Conception and Salvador Rodriguez all of Phoenix, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Oscar is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Carlos, and a sister Barbara.
Services for Oscar Rodriguez will be held on February 19, 2022, at 11am at the Military Honor Wall in front of his house at
213 West Palm Court Coolidge Arizona 85128
After Oscar’s service the procession will head to the Marana Veterans Cemetery where Oscar will receive his Military Honor ceremony.
