Mr. Shanks was born on Aug. 23, 1962. He painted his life with vibrant hues of imagination, leaving behind a footprint of creativity that inspired those around him. That eye for imagination was molded through his deep love for movies/television/music and expressed through his refined approach to billiards and love of competition, competing in several pool leagues each year.
Leader of the “Phoenix Motorcycle Group," he had a life that echoed the rumble of his Harley-Davidson — bold, adventurous and thrilling. His love for the open road was matched only by his love for his family and friends. His presence illuminated every gathering, and his laughter echoed in the hearts of all who shared in his company. His love for life was infectious, encouraging others to embrace the beauty of the world and to live each moment to the fullest.
He is survived by a son and daughter, Zach Shanks of Phoenix and Briana Drook of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a sister, Julie Shanks of Marion, Indiana; and his mother, Gloria Shanks of Upland, Indiana.
Visitation from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, at Gardens of Matter Park in Marion. Small service beginning around 3 p.m.
