Marie Loretta Kult was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away on February 27, 2022 at age 89 in Tucson, AZ.
She was born on April 6, 1932 in Olpe, KS to Mike and Mary Miller, spending most of her youth in Coon Rapids, IA. After graduating from Coon Rapids High School with the class of 1950, she married Neil Phillip Kult on September 12, 1953. Together, they had five children.
They spent the majority of their lives in Milford and Williamston, MI where they were members of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. After spending winters in AZ, Marie and Neil eventually moved to Casa Grande, AZ full-time in 2014 to enjoy their golden years under the Arizona sun. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family and dedicated her time to raising her children. Marie was a devout Catholic who truly lived her faith, being a devoted member of the Women’s Sodality and ensuring all of her children were involved in the church. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing and flower gardening during her free time and was an avid fan of all sports and enjoyed playing Bridge with the Local Bridge Club.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Mary Miller; brothers Vincent, Arnold, Elmer, Floyd, Donald and Ronald Miller; sister Helen Rasmussen; and husband, Neil Kult. She is survived by her sister, Elsie Lovrien; her five children: Daniel (Rose) Kult of Bluffton, SC, Nancy (Doug) Scott of Tucson, AZ, Sandra (Rich) Freiberg of Montague, MI, Douglas (Karen) Kult of Happy Jack, AZ, and Kathleen (Anne Danowski) Kult of Rancho Mirage CA, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Tucson, AZ with Fr. James Mascarenhas as officiant. Interment is scheduled for the following morning, Friday, April 22, 2022 at 10:00 am at Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Marana, AZ.
