Lodalis Lee Whitman, aged 76, passed peacefully at his home in Sacaton on December 5, 2023. He was born on September 6, 1947, in Sacaton to Earl Jr. and Barbara Whitman.

Lodalis served in the Vietnam War as a dedicated member of the Army. After his military service, he resided in Oakland, California for most of his life before returning to his beloved home state of Arizona in 2021.

Lodalis had a warm and jovial personality and was known for his love of storytelling. He would captivate those around him with tales from his childhood and experiences during the war. Additionally, he had a passion for football and proudly supported both the Raiders and the 49ers. Following his discharge from the Army, Lodalis joined AIM (American Indian Movement) during its early years; he often shared stories about his involvement and the reasons behind his departure.

Lodalis is survived by his daughter Lenora Cordier, as well as his siblings Danny Terry, Brenda Ortega, Vernon Whitman, Brian Whitman, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Earl Jr. and Barbara Whitman, as well as his siblings Lewllyn Whitman, Earlinda Johnson, Carol Whitman, Edwin Whitman, Duane Whitman, Sandra Campbell, and Errol Whitman.

Lodalis Lee Whitman will be fondly remembered for his vibrant spirit, engaging stories, and deep love for family. May he rest in peace knowing that he touched the lives of those around him with warmth and laughter.
