Karen Margaret Carnes

February 25, 1939 — July 26, 2022

Karen Margaret Carnes, 83, of Casa Grande died on July 26, 2022.

Mrs. Carnes was born in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, on Feb. 25, 1939, to John Huber and Edith Baker. She was known for her strong and devout Catholic faith. She taught and believed in loving your neighbor as yourself. Her beliefs flowed outward to her husband, children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Her faith was shown in a long nursing career, mostly with patients who had dementia and who were cared for in her home, in one of the first licensed private adult care homes in Arizona. She was a woman of rare faith, fortitude and courage who left a legacy to her family.

Survivors include four adult children, Wendall Carnes, Wren Morrow, Wava Garza and Wynnette Highet; two siblings, Dennis Huber and Rhana Reich; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband, Wesley Carnes Sr.; two children, Wayde and Wesley Carnes Jr.; and three siblings, Eunice Liebel, Gerald and Arlene Huber.

Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rosary recited at 10 and funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30.
