John A Calvey Jr. passed away on January 10th, 2024 at the age of 82. Born on June 25, 1941, he lived a fulfilling life filled with various interests and cherished moments with family and friends.
SGT Calvey was very proud of his service to the City Of Chicago he was a police man for over 30 years starting as a patrol officer and managing to rise through the ranks to becoming a police Sergeant, his impact to the community was immeasurable and will be missed. John was an avid fan of Marilyn Monroe and Brooke Burke, their talent and beauty captivating him. He had a deep appreciation for movies and cooking, finding joy in exploring new flavors and techniques in the kitchen. John's passion for culinary arts extended to sharing these experiences with his loved ones.
Family was very important to John, and he treasured spending time with his grandchildren. His presence in their lives brought warmth and love that will forever be cherished by Matthew Calvey, Paige Calvey, Ethan Calvey, Michael Matheson, and Gabrielle Matheson.
In addition to his devotion to family, John had a spirit of adventure. He found solace in traveling to new places and immersing himself in the beauty of nature through hiking. These experiences enriched his life and allowed him to create enduring memories.
John leaves behind a legacy of love which will be carried on by his surviving family members: Kelly K Matheson (Daughter), John Austin Calvey III (Son), George A Matheson (Son-in-law), Linda Calvey (Daughter-in-law). Although he will be greatly missed, they will find comfort in reminiscing about the wonderful times they shared together.
Today we bid farewell to John A Calvey Jr., celebrating the remarkable life he led full of love, passion, and cherished moments. As we remember him, let us take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
