Doris Elaine Makil

Doris Elaine Makil, 68, known to many as “Dodi”, passed away on February 15, 2024, at Abrazzo Hospital in Phoenix. She was born to the late Linus and Hazel Frances Makil. She is preceded in death by her 2 sons, Joey, and Carlos Makil, 2 brothers, Daniel, and Darryl Makil, 5 sisters, Angeline Makil, Karen Lewis, Susan Gomez-Makil, Shirlene Makil, Virginia Makil and 4 grandchildren.

Dodi is survived by her 7 children, Camelia Makil, Martin Flores “JR”, Manuel Makil, D’Ana Lizarraga, Lorenzo Lizarraga, Rosealva Lizarraga and Renee Lizarrage, 32 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one on the way. She leaves behind her surviving 4 sisters, Verona Friesson and Anna Figueroa from Casa Blanca, Carla Makil, and Gina Martinez of Snaketown, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dodi was employed by Ak-Chin Casino as a Tribal Gaming Agent for over 20 years. She resigned respectfully due to her health issues.

In Dodi’s spare time, she looked forward to football season, with the Dallas Cowboys being her number one team. She enjoyed being alongside her family at family gatherings. Dodi had a big appetite for hot salsa, hot tamales and hot menudo were her favorites.

Her family and friends will miss her jokes, her laughter and especially her concerns for her children and family. Dodi will be loved and missed dearly.
