Donald Gene Ulshafer

Donald Gene Ulshafer passed away on October 30, 2023, in Casa Grande, AZ at the age of 83. Donald was born on August 11, 1940 in Wabash, IN to Walter and Ethel Ulshafer.

Donald graduated from Wabash High School in 1958 and went on to complete classes at Indiana University. He was a member of the US Army National Guard. For many years, Don worked as a Credit and Collections Advisor for Fidelity Finance. He was a kind, gentle, and loving man who was adventurous and young at heart. He spent much of his life traveling with wife Susan, and other family members.  Zip-lining and parasailing were two activities that he did not shy away from, but very much enjoyed. Living only a street corner away from a golf course, golfing was one of Don’s most cherished past-times. He loved to fish and watch NFL football and MLB baseball, particularly the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs.

Don is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel (France) Ulshafer; father, Walter Ulshafer; sister, Patricia Waldron; brother, Robert Ulshafer; mother-in-law, Sue Veselsky; brother-in-law, Dr. Ronald Veselsky; and niece, Connie Ulshafer.

Don is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan (Veselsky) Ulshafer; daughters, Kathy (Mark) Arnos and Tracy (John) Caccamise; brother, Charles (Barbara) Ulshafer; sisters-in-law, Debra (Raymond) Tanzer and  Kathy Macari; nieces, Noelle Howlett, Caitlin (Michael) Henry, Kristi (Patrick) Unger, Debbie Seabolt; nephews, Lew Veselsky, Josh (Nichole) Veselsky, Ryan (Ashley) Tanzer, Randy (Coty) Waldron; and four grandchildren, Olivia and Andrew Arnos, and Hannah and Rachel Caccamise.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Honeywell Center (Honeywell Room) at 275 W. Market Street, Wabash, IN 46992 on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 3:00 pm EST.  Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm EST.
