Cornelius E. Dearing Jr., aged 68, of Coolidge, passed away on January 11, 2024, in Mesa. Born on October 10, 1955, in Casa Grande to Cornelius Sr. and Mavis Dearing. Cornelius Jr., affectionately known as "Corny" by close family and friends, led a life filled with passion and cherished moments.
Cornelius was a highly skilled Pool Champion and a talented musician who played the drums. He found joy in fishing and had a passion for barbecuing, which he perfected for his family. Besides his culinary skills, he had an affinity for Tootsie Rolls. Among his particular enjoyments was observing the parachuters in Eloy. He embodied an old-fashioned charm and held deep appreciation for old school music which he continued to play from a CD player. His amiable nature drew numerous friends into his circle, as he possessed a vibrant personality that captivated all those who knew him. His greatest pleasure came from spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Cornelius is survived by his sons and daughters: Julius Warwick, Mike Reese, Quinnisha, Malica, Falisity, Keannia Dearing and Ernestine Mata. He also leaves behind siblings Addie Heygood, Nina Tyler, Delores Dearing, Jeanette Dearing, Isaac Dearing, Linda Dearing, Joyce Dearing, Lester Dearing, Glen Dearing, Juliette Dearing and seven cherished grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Cornelius Sr. and Mavis Mims as well as siblings Jobe Dearing, Myra Bishop and Andros Dearing. Additionally, he mourns the loss of two nieces Shawnteria Jeffries and Carmelia Black.
