ELOY — Andrew Anthony Joaquin, 73, of Eloy died on May 18, 2012, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 5 p.m. today at Christ Assembly in Casa Grande. A graveside service will begin at 7 a.m. Thursday in Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Garvin Jones will officiate.
Mr. Joaquin was born on Aug. 3, 1938, in Sacaton and was a son of John and Virginia Joaquin. He was a farmworker in the Casa Grande area and liked things with the John Deere name. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved animals, especially his dogs. He liked listening to country music, especially George Strait, and died on the singer's birthday. He was devoted to his family and loved playing tag with his grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Veronica Levy of Casa Grande and Magdelaine Luz of Ventana Village; five sons, Adrian Joaquin of Phoenix, Anselm Joaquin of Coolidge, Jason and Jacob Joaquin of Eloy and Charles Joaquin of Apache Junction; two sisters, Pauline Garcia of Jackrabbit Village and Patsy Cruz of Coolidge; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josefine, and a brother, Cornelius Joaquin.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
