Aliyah Prieto

June 28, 2002 — April 13, 2024

Casa Grande

Aliyah passed away on April 13, 2024 in Casa Grande, Arizona. Aliyah was born June 28, 2002 and was the happiest baby. She smiled her first smile soon after birth and laughed out loud before most babies do. Aliyah was a born leader, outspoken and not afraid of a challenge. She was naturally intelligent and breezed through high school graduating a year early. Aliyah used to say she wanted to be a mom. When she grew up and was overjoyed to be a new mom. She put her daughter first in everything she did.

She was a server at Cracker Barrel and loved serving people and the flexibility of being able to work while being a full-time mom. Aliyah lit up any room she entered with her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She had a heart of gold and didn’t judge anyone she met. She was a nurturer and always wanted to help and gave 100% in everything she did. She loved dogs, especially her dog, Loki. There was nothing Aliyah couldn’t do, whether it was singing a song she’d never heard before (on key) but knowing every word, the latest dance, braiding hair, putting stuff together, taking stuff apart, setting up electronics, showing someone how to put on lashes or helping with homework; the list goes on and on. She put on her makeup flawlessly although she didn’t need it. She was a perfectionist without even trying. There was never a dull moment around Aliyah. She was everybody’s favorite and lived her life to the fullest. She was too beautiful for this world.

Aliyah is survived by her daughter, Everett Luna Castro; nana, Debbie Castro; mother, Yvette Castro; father, Pedro Prieto (Kara); sisters, Amarah, Karely, Camila and Miah; brothers, Jin, Kiko, Cilas, Josiah and Jesse, all of Casa Grande; along with her tias, Nicole Espinoza (Mario), Vanessa Marrufo (Ruben); and tio, Alex Castro Jr.; and close cousins she grew up with. She was preceded in death by her tata, Alex Castro Sr.; tio, Shawn Bo Armstrong and cousin, Xavier Castro.

Wake will be held on Friday, April 26 at 4 p.m. at J. Warren Funeral Services on Peart Road. A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m. at Victory Chapel with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
