Winnie Beryl Lawson

April 10, 1927 — January 31, 2014

Winnie Beryl Lawson, 86, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 31, 2014, at Hospice of the Valley in Peoria.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Southern Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2, with Pastor Phil Calvert officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mrs. Lawson was born on April 10, 1927, in Eclectic, Ala., and was a daughter of Berry W. Morgan and Sallie A. Timmerman. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church who taught the kindergarten class in Sunday school for 40 straight years. The matriarch of her family, she enjoyed needlework and was an accomplished cook, especially with her special Southern food. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, John E. Lawson Jr. of Phoenix; a daughter, Merry L. Quackenbush of Glendale; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Sr.; three brothers; and three sisters.
