ARIZONA CITY — Velma Edith Swanciger, 91, of Arizona City died on Nov. 25, 2012, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. The funeral there will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, with Pastor Gary Biancini officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Swanciger was born on Dec. 12, 1920, in Decatur, Ill., and was a daughter of John Wisnasky and Minnie Landolt. She was a homemaker and a very kind and loving person. She helped build her daughter's restaurant, Flashbacks Diner, in Arizona City.
She loved growing roses and was a member of Las Vegas Rose Club. Prior to moving to Arizona City she and her husband enjoyed dancing, including square dancing. She was a member of Polka Boosters Dance Club and German American Club in Las Vegas, Nev. She was a member of Living Hope Community Church in Arizona City.
Survivors include two sons, Gary L. and Larry B. Swanciger of Las Vegas; a daughter, Gloria D. Eddy of Arizona City; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and three brothers, Melvin, Herschel and Paul Wisnasky.
