Vinton LeRoy Stange, 84, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 24, 2010 at Southern Arizona VA Medical Center in Tucson.
The celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Desert Sky Baptist Church, with Pastor Don Brackbill Jr. officiating.
Mr. Stange was born on July 9, 1925 in Doon, Iowa, and was a son of John H. and Florence Lyle Stange. He served in the Navy during World War II. He later was a self-employed contractor and helped build many of the nation’s interstate highways. He enjoyed collecting model trains.
Survivors include his wife, Melva “Jean”; two daughters, Debbie Dyer of Buena Vista, Colo., and Gay Lynn Johnson of Casa Grande; two sons, John E. Stange of Bellevue, Neb., and Tim W. Stange of Buena Vista; two sisters, Bernice Peters and Delores Trometer of Iowa; a brother, Jerry Stange of Iowa; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
