Thomas O'Malley

Thomas Francis "Tom" O’Malley Jr., 79, died peacefully on Feb. 12, 2014, with his loving wife and four children at his home in Casa Grande.

Mr. O’Malley was born on April 30, 1934, in Chicago and was a son of Thomas O’Malley Sr. and Gladys Kelly O’Malley. He graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1951 and continued his education at the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1955. He served as an officer in the Navy from 1955 to 1958. After working as president of Weather Tite Window Company until the mid 1980s, he continued his career at Best Buy until retiring in 1995.

He was a devoted father and grandfather, taking regular cross-country trips from Arizona to Kansas City, then on to Cincinnati and Boston to be with his family and celebrate their important events. He and his wife loved the outdoors, raising their children at Lake Lotawana, Mo., and later traveling in their RV to see the country together. He had a number of treasured friends in his close-knit communities of Casa Grande and Munds Park. He was known for his warmth and wonderful sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen O’Malley, and a sister, Sister Kathleen O’Malley. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Howard O’Malley; four sons and daughters, Thomas O’Malley III, John O’Malley, Kathleen Cipollone and Maureen Lindgren; a brother, Edward O’Malley; and 10 grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande, beginning at 11 a.m., on March 15.
