Theodore P. "Ted" Patrou

ELOY - Theodore P. "Ted" Patrou, 88, of Eloy died on April 15, 2020.

Mr. Patrou was born on July 22, 1931, in Webster City, Iowa, to Peter and Nellie Patrou. He graduated from Lincoln High School and attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 1953 with a business degree. On Dec. 26, 1952, he married Beverly Ann Grempel of Webster City. He entered the Air Force as an officer and attended the electronics and communications school at Scott AFB in Illinois. He was assigned to an installation in Japan during the Korean War period. After a lengthy separation from his family, he returned and attended graduate school at Iowa with advanced courses in finance.

Looking for a good job to support his family, in 1957 he accepted a financial position with IBM in Chicago, and in 1966 transferred to IBM headquarters in New York. He held various positions up to division controller. After 32 years with IBM, he took early retirement in 1989 and joined Siemens in Norwalk, Connecticut, in the Telecommunications Division. In 1992 he transferred to San Jose, California, where he was a financial consultant specializing in contract negotiations until retiring again in 1996.

He and his wife moved to Tucson for 10 years before moving to Eloy in 2007. He was very active in his church throughout his adult life and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Casa Grande.

Preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah L. Feldbaumer and Kathryn L. Patrou, and a son, Stephen Theodore Patrou, he is survived by his wife; a daughter, Kristine K. Garcia; two sons, Anthony Theodore Patrou of Maui, Hawaii, and Timothy Theodore Patrou of Wallkill, New York; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial service postponed until later.
