Stella C. Nielsen

Stella "Cathy" Nielsen, 65, of Casa Grande died June 9, 2009 at Hospice Family Care.


The service of remembrance will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with Pastor Roy Edwards officiating. Visitation there will be one hour prior.

Ms. Nielsen was born in Lubbock, Texas, and was a daughter of Laney E. and Cathryn A. Huggins. She was a registered nurse and moved to Casa Grande in 1967, working at Hoemako Hospital. She continued there and later at the new Casa Grande Regional Medical Center until retiring in 1997. She loved caring for her patients.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends and loved to travel. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross. She loved her cats and her Camaro SS.

Survivors include a daughter, Cathryn E. Bejarano of Casa Grande; a son, John M. James of Casa Grande; and three grandchildren.
