Stafford "Champ" Blair Thomas

SANTAN - Stafford Blair "Champ" Thomas, 49, died on November 1, 2015, at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 4 Service Center. The graveside service will be at 8 a.m. Saturday in Santan Day School Cemetery, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating.

Mr. Thomas was born on Dec. 16, 1965, in Sacaton. He worked in landscaping and loved music, especially reggae and classic rock. He also loved motorcycles and was always going out of his way to help others.

He always had an ear to listen to anyone, especially his nieces and nephews. He loved traveling with his cousin in his big rig and enjoyed experiencing different parts of the country, especially where there was snow.

Survivors include his parents, Sally A. Thomas of Sacaton and Kenneth Thomas of Blackwater; five brothers, Cletus and Stewart Thomas of Santan, Darin Thomas of Goodyear Village, Sterling Thomas of Sacaton and Kenneth G. Thomas of Blackwater; and four sisters, Edwardine Thomas of Santan, Melanie T. Allison of Sacaton, Laura Thomas of Gilbert and Jessica Thomas of Blackwater.
