Socorro Martinez

Socorro B. Martinez, 90, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 28, 2012, at Oasis Pavilion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 10. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 by the Rev. John Arnold. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Martinez was born on Jan. 19, 1922, in Mexico and was a daughter of Jose Q. Buruel and Carmenlita Padilla. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Anthony's Church and a member of Guadalupana Society. She loved dancing, listening to Mexican music, taking walks to shop at the Salvation Army Thrift Store and, most of all, her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosalie Burrell of Casa Grande; two sisters, Consuelo Dorsey of Casa Grande and Guermina Ramirez of Tucson; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Demetrio; a daughter, Mary Carmen Lopez; five brothers; and a sister.
