Socorro Castro

Socorro A. Castro, 85, of Casa Grande died on Aug. 8, 2012, at home.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. A celebration of life will follow at 10. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Castro was born on May 5, 1927, in Tucson and was a daughter of Jose and Romana Alcantar. She was a homemaker and loved her family and being with them, dancing to Spanish music and barbecuing. She was old-fashioned.
Survivors include three sons, Frank, Arnold and Sam Castro Sr., all of Casa Grande; two daughters, Eloise Gastelum and Barbara Melecio of Casa Grande; three brothers, Julio and Rudy Alcantar of Tucson and Joe Alcantar of Phoenix; 25 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Agapito; a son, Alex Castro; two sisters, Maria Requena and Rita Archuleta; and a brother, Mike Alcantar.
