Simon V. Burciaga

BAPCHULE - Simon V. Burciaga Jr., 91, of Bapchule died on Feb. 17, 2020.

Mr. Burciaga was born on July 28, 1928, in McNary, Texas, to Simon Burciaga Sr. and Francisca Vigil-Burciaga. He loved being with his family and was funny and always joking.

He liked to travel, dance and play guitar and accordion. He was a musician and singer and played in the band Los Extraviados Del Norte for many years.

Survivors include four daughters and a son, Mary T., Fidel S., Irene and Esther Burciaga and Stella Sanchez; 33 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria; a daughter and son, Sylvia and Arthur Burciaga; and two siblings, Manuel Burciaga and Catalina Macias.

Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, at the District 4 Multipurpose Building. Funeral Mass celebrated at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, at St. Anne Catholic Mission in Santan. Burial in St. Anne Cemetery.
