January 15, 1968 - April 13, 2008

Sean Gary Cooper, 40, passed away on April 13, 2008, in Casa Grande, Arizona. He was born on January 15, 1968, in San Manuel, Arizona. Sean was a devoted family man and is survived by his loving wife, Gina Marie (Schembri) Cooper; mother, Marilyn Cooper; brother, Michael (Rosie) Cooper; and sister, Candace (Manti) Galbraith; 11 dearly loved nephews and nieces; aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends. He is pre-deceased by his father, James E. Cooper, brother, Darren J. Cooper, and his beloved grandparents, William and Mary Ferguson. Sean lived on his ranch, "Shiloh" in Florence, Arizona for the past 15 years. Because of his tremendous love for animals and all God's creatures, his ranch was a sanctuary for his beloved dogs and horses. He was always sheltering, loving, and providing a home for any stray animal that came his way. Sean had a special gift in reaching out, mentoring, and inspiring other people. He has touched so many lives in a positive way especially evidenced by the outpouring of love at his passing.

Sean moved with his family to Casa Grande when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Casa Grande Union High School where he was chosen as an "Outstanding Senior" and excelled as a quarterback in football, setting records with his passing skills. He loved basketball, baseball, and had a passion for weight lifting and physical fitness. He went on to attend Arizona State University and eventually received his Master's Degree in Psychology. Being athletic and intelligent was always obvious; however, Sean was very humble and quiet about his accomplishments. He received a citation from the State for rescuing a couple from a burning car following a car accident as well as other acts of great courage.

Sean's passion and career were with the criminal justice system. He was a Case Manager for the CCA in Florence. He had previously worked with the State Department of Corrections for 12 years where he was an Assistant Deputy Warden.

Services will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center, 1555 N.
