Sandra Kay Rogers (Hale), 63, of Why, AZ, passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013. She was surrounded by her loving family in Casa Grande, AZ. Sandy Hale was born May 7, 1950 in Monmouth, IL. The daughter of Lewis and Betty Hale, Sandy was an accomplished seamstress, crafter, quilter and entrepreneur. Owner of the Why Not Travel Store in Why, AZ for 22 years, Sandy was an active member of the Ajo Lion’s Club, she was a generous philanthropist
for local causes and a dedicated dog mom to Coco, Bama and Sparky.
Sandy is survived by sons, Allen Wonder and his wife Crystal, of Joppa, MD, and Cortney Wonder and his wife Sandra, of Casa Grande, AZ; grandchildren, Miguel, Katriana, Alexander, Angelina, Arianna, Nicholas and Trinity; her mother, Betty Hale, of Little York, IL; sisters, Wendy Hale and her partner Bob, of Columbia, MO, and Connie Kmoch and her husband David, of
Cedar Falls, IA; nieces, Heather Arnold and her husband Kevin, and Heidi Sallows, of Port Byron, IL; adopted son, Albert; as well as, many friends, neighbors and colleagues.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Hale.
Services will be held in Ajo, AZ. Visitation will be Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Douglass Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Darwin Chandler
officiating. Interment at a later date in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ajo Lion’s Club, P.O. Box 612, Ajo, AZ 85321.
