Samuel Eskew Jr.

COOLIDGE - Samuel Eskew Jr., 72, died on Aug. 4, 2018, at his home in Coolidge while surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Eskew was born on Jan. 8, 1946, in Woodrow, Arkansas, to Elizer and Samuel Eskew Sr. He worked in agriculture for many years and lived in Coolidge for the last 50 years. On June 16, 1978, he married Darlene Frank in Florence.

He loved to hunt and listen to country and oldies music. He also liked watching movies and the History Channel. He enjoyed talking to friends and family about the "old days" and was a strong and happy person who was always joking and teasing people. His sense of humor is what he was most known for, and everyone loved to be around him. He was devoted to his family.

He was preceded in death by a son, Sonny Boy; a daughter, Roberta Estes; two sisters, Aline Moore and Joyce Rector; and three brothers, Sylvestor Eskew, Willie Parker and Charles Cox. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years; a daughter, Carissa Ruiz of Coolidge; a son, Ernie Estes of Mesa; and seven siblings, Surcy L. Marshall of Texas, Bobbie Sweat of Tucson, John Hubbard of Compton, California, Edward Eskew of Los Angeles, Leatha, Edward and Jerline Tyler, all of Texarkana, Texas.
