Sammy Moore

ARIZONA CITY — Sammy Lee Moore, 79, of Arizona City died on Aug. 21, 2011, at Oasis Pavilion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Casa Grande.
Mr. Moore was born on Sept. 9, 1931, in Twisp, Wash., and was a son of Clyde and Edith Moore. He was a truck driver for more than 60 years and spent much of his life moving people's possessions. In 1975 he was named Mover of the Year for Smyth Van Lines, based in Seattle. He also owned Moore Moving & Storage in Marysville, Wash. He was a bowler and golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie; two sons, Jerry Moore of Arlington, Wash., and Sammy Moore Jr. of Grand Junction, Colo.; three daughters, Cheri Moe of Arlington, Rhea A. O'Conner of Marysville and Sherry Orcutt of Mount Vernon, Wash.; a brother, Dale Moore of Kaunakakai, Hawaii; a sister, Joyce Winn of Chicago; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frances Moore, and a granddaughter, Daneisha De Filippis.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
