Ruby Fearn

Ruby Louise Fearn, 85, a longtime Casa Grande resident, died peacefully on Sept. 8, 2010, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral there will be at 10 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Raymond Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Fearn was born on Sept. 6, 1925, in Seagoville, Texas, and was a daughter of Fannie T. (Carder) and George Washington Mansell, the third of six children. She was raised near Wilson, Okla., and moved to Casa Grande in 1943. She met John Fearn and they married on Nov. 30, 1947, at Calvary Baptist Church in Casa Grande. They owned and operated a cotton farm and cattle ranch near Casa Grande beginning in 1947. After her husband’s death in 1979, she worked for Dr. Hugh Richmond until she retired.
She was devoted to her family and took great pride in her home. She loved to cook and enjoyed gardening. She was a member of Casa Grande Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and Casa Grande Valley Cotton and Agriculture Women. Her faith in Jesus Christ was foremost in her life. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Georgia Schaeffer and Mary Sue Beers of Casa Grande; a son, John A. Fearn Jr. of Laveen; a sister, Mildred Baker of Carmichael, Calif.; a brother, Samuel Mansell of Seminole, Okla.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Ryan Fearn; a sister, Georgia “Flo” Parrett; and two brothers, George W. Mansell Jr. and Carl Mansell.
Memorial contributions may be made to Casa Grande Valley Historical Society, the American Heart Association or Grace Baptist Church.
