Ronald Dean Evans

LAVEEN - Ronald Dean Evans, 75, of Laveen died May 25, 2008 at Banner Estrella Medical Center.


Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the District 1 Service Center in Blackwater and will continue with rosary from 8 to 11 p.m. at San Xavier community building near Tucson. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6 a.m. Saturday at San Xavier Catholic Mission. Burial will be in San Xavier Cemetery.

Mr. Evans was born July 11, 1932 in Sacaton. He graduated from Phoenix Indian School and married his high school sweetheart. He was a printer and operated a Linotype at various shops, including the newspaper in Globe and the Arizona Republic in Phoenix and a commercial print shop in Tucson.

Upon retirement he continued his artwork avidly. He drew for pleasure and also loved rock music, using it as therapy. He was an avid Diamondbacks fan.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Johnson of Sacaton; two sons, Marlon and Bernal Evans of San Xavier; a sister, Darlene Fulwilder of Laveen; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn.
