Robert Lee Nelson

Born in Jefferson, Iowa; he moved to Washington state when he was 11. After high school he joined the Air Force and met his wife, Marie, while stationed in Texas. He served in various parts of the world. They later settled in Portland, OR, where he was an Air Force recruiter until retirement. He raised painted horses and flew private planes. He loved scuba diving, photography and many other hobbies. He enjoyed the Southwest, and in 2000 he and his wife began making winter trips to Caliente. He was elected to the Caliente board in 2003. He was outgoing with a great sense of humor and made friends easily.
