Robert L. Costales

Robert L. Costales Sr., 74, a Casa Grande resident and native, died on Sept. 30, 2013, at home.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 11:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon by the Rev. George Kunnel. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Costales was born on Feb. 14, 1939, and was a son of Francisca and Cayetano Costales Sr. He served in the Army National Guard and worked as a machinist.
He was a choir director for 30 years at St. Anthony’s Church and involved in Marriage Encounter, Guadalupana Society and the Cursillo Movement. He enjoyed hunting, listening to music, playing his guitar, playing cards, especially poker, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Neomi; four daughters, Lidia Reeve, Becky Fowler and Linda Garcia, all of Casa Grande, and Terri Baca of Show Low; three sons, Robert Costales Jr. of Coolidge, William Costales of Casa Grande and John Paul Costales of East Barre, Vt.; four sisters, Isabel Hernandez of Sacramento, Calif., Sally Cortez, Frances Quero and Sylvia Morgan, all of Casa Grande; three brothers, Pete, Ernesto and Carlos Costales, all of Casa Grande; 25 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cayetano Costales Jr.
