Robert George La Plant

FLORENCE - Robert George La Plant, 81, of Florence died peacefully on Jan. 1, 2020.

Mr. La Plant was born on Aug. 20, 1938, in Menominee, Michigan, to George La Plant and Dorothy Ann Hopper-La Plant. He proudly served in the Air Force for 24 years, including three tours in Vietnam, and retired as a senior master sergeant.

He attended Arizona State University for four years and received a teaching degree. He was a spiritual person and enjoyed woodworking and playing cards and dominoes.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Dorothy; four sons and daughters, Michael Maish, Karen Maki, Rodrick Maish and Claudia Hagen; four siblings, Jim La Plant, Joan and Jean Barry and Nora La Plant; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
