Robert D. Huddleston

December 17, 1934 — October 3, 2007

December 17, 1934 - October 3, 2007

Bob and Shirley had three children, Sheri, Bob Jr., and Joe, and in 1966 they moved their young family from Indiana to the small town of Casa Grande, Arizona. Bob came with his nephew, Dale Bennett, to manage the radio station, KPIN, where Bob did the morning show for many years. After the sale of the radio station, he owned Oasis Nursery and then went into auto sales. He enjoyed working with so many people in the Casa Grande and Coolidge areas during his time at Desert Motors, Vern Walton Motors and Garrett Motors.

For over 50 years, Bob was a Mason. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and singing country western music, but his favorite entertainment was spending time at family gatherings with his wife, children and grandchildren, who will miss him daily and love him always.

Bob is survived by his wife Shirley of Casa Grande; daughter Sheri (Bill) Hudzietz of Tempe; two sons, Robert Huddleston, Jr. of Casa Grande, Joseph (Denise) Huddleston of Chandler; brother Ed Huddleston of Arlington, TX;
four grandsons, Robert (Dora) Huddleston III, Timothy Huddleston, Brance Hudzietz and Brent Huddleston; four granddaughters, Kacia Huddleston, Hannah Huddleston and Molly Huddleston, Brianna Hudzietz and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Huddleston.

Bob was born December 17, 1934 in West Point, Indiana as the youngest of six kids. He spent his youth working on the family farm and playing basketball, which may explain his love for the movie, "Hoosiers." In 1954 he met the love of his life, Shirley Stichter. They were married in 1956 and recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.

He was preceded in death by his parents Brance and Lucy Huddleston, three sisters, Ruby Kirk, Bonnie Emerson and Mary Summerfield, and brother William Joseph Huddleston.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. Reverend Dr. Mike Kerr-Osman will be officiating. Condolences can be sent to jwarrenfuneral.com.
