Richard Mendoza

ELOY - Richard Mendoza, 67, of Eloy died on Aug. 21, 2019, in Tempe.

Mr. Mendoza was born on Aug. 8, 1952, in San Francisquito, Sonora, Mexico, to Pete and Minnie (Salcido) Mendoza. His family moved to Arizona when he was an infant, and he attended Picacho Elementary School.

He worked as a farm laborer for several years before becoming a home care provider at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge, where he worked for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Yolanda Francisco; three sons and a daughter, Sherwin and Gordon Francisco, Sarah and Regis Mendoza; four brothers, Juan, Joe, Larry and Ralph; two sisters, Julia Ibarra and Lucinda Mendoza; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service and wake beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, at the District 1 Multipurpose Building in Blackwater. Burial at 5 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, in Blackwater Cemetery.
