Porfiria Vasquez

Porfiria J. Vasquez, 82, of Eloy died May 13, 2009 at home.


Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass was celebrated there at 9 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Bardo Antunez. Burial was in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mrs. Vasquez was born Sept. 15, 1926 in Del Valle, Texas. She was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Eloy and a member of St. Helen Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Pascual M.; four daughters, Julie Cruz and Olivia Maldonado of Eloy, Mary Young of Casa Grande and Rosalie Vasquez of Phoenix; a son, Hector Vasquez of Eloy; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
