COOLIDGE — Pauline Barrios Garcia, 86, of Phoenix died on July 12, 2010, in Phoenix.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. by the Rev. Virgilio Tabo. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park.
Mrs. Garcia was born on June 22, 1924, in Valedon, N.M. She was a classroom assistant for 191/2 years for the Coolidge Unified School District. She was a member of St. James Church, the Ladies Sodality and the church council. She taught religious education classes and was a gifted seamstress. She made new habits for the church sisters and was a wonderful caregiver.
Survivors include three daughters, Frances K. Salazar, Andrea Garcia-Abeytia and Dora Vasquez, all of Phoenix; a brother, Candido Barrios of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Olivia B. Velasquez of San Jose, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank D. “Chico”; two sisters, Elisa B. “Elsie” Flores and Romula B. “Gerri” Buell; and a brother, Ruben C. Barrios.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
