Melvina Rigsby

Melvina O. “Honey” Rigsby, 94, of Casa Grande died on Nov. 14, 2010, at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Nov. 27 at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will follow at 11, with the Rev. Hank Cannon officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Rigsby was born on Dec. 3, 1915, in Bedias, Texas, and was a daughter of Sam Mosley and Nealie Merchant. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and working in the nursery flats of a community garden. She was one of the first in crossbreeding roses for different colors. She was a third-generation member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Rigsby of Eloy; a daughter, Marilyn Reaves of Mesa; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.L. “Buddy” Rigsby; a daughter, Lucille Alexander; and four brothers.
