Melba Lee Burden

ELOY - Melba Lee Gregory Burden, 86, of Eloy died on Jan. 31, 2015, in Phoenix.

The celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Monday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Memory Gardens in Casa Grande, with Pastor Manuel Salas officiating.

Mrs. Burden was born on Oct. 25, 1928, in Memphis, Texas, to Burl L. and Beulah May Ross Gregory. She was a homemaker and loved to garden and work in her yard. She loved hummingbirds, and her family meant everything to her.

She had a contagious smile and a quick wit and was an incredible cook who enjoyed volunteering for various organizations and Eloy schools. She was a member of Eloy Woman’s Club and First United Methodist Church of Eloy.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; a son, Bruce Burden; a daughter, Faith Peters; two sisters, Doris Lane of Gilbert and Diane Roberts of Mesa; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, M. Annette Burden Cook; a grandson, Brian Etheredge; a great-grandson, Nicolas Aleman; two brothers, B.L. and Ellis Gregory; and three sisters, Wanda Hicks, Dora Howell and May Ella Dean.
