Matilda Miguel

CHUICHU VILLAGE - Matilda Miguel, 97, of Chuichu died on Feb. 24, 2015, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Archie Hendricks Sr. Skilled Nursing Facility near Sells. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church. A wake will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the family home in Chuichu, with all choirs welcome. Burial will be at 7:30 a.m. Saturday in White Horse Pass Village Cemetery.

Mrs. Miguel was born on Jan. 1, 1918, in Arizona. She was a homemaker and made beautiful baskets. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Santa Fe (New Mexico) Indian Market.

She is survived by a son, Milton Miguel of Chuichu, and was preceded in death by her husband, Major Miguel, and two sons, Norman Thomas and Clifford Miguel.
