Mary Jane Damron

ELOY - Mary Jane Damron, 63, died in her lifelong home on Dec. 27, 2017.

Mrs. Damron was born in Florence on July 17, 1954, and raised in Eloy, a daughter of Clyde and Dora Gobea. She graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. She retired after 25 years of tireless service with the Pinal County Attorney’s Office and most recently continued her service to the community as a case manager for Pinal Hispanic Council.

She was proud of Eloy and poured her heart and soul into St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, serving as Parish Council president and as a member of Catholic Daughters. She also was a member of Eloy-Robson Ranch Rotary Club, the Eloy Fire District board, Corazon De Latinos Unidos, Eloy Governor's Alliance Against Drugs, Eloy Chamber of Commerce and the Pinal County Domestic Violence Coalition.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and is survived by two sons and a daughter, Richee, Scott and Margie, two brothers, Ralph Navarre and Eddie Gobea of Casa Grande; and four grandchildren.

Wake beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church. Funeral Mass celebrated there at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 5, by the Rev. Alonzo Garcia.
