Mary Ann Manship, 94, of Coolidge died on Nov. 24, 2010, in Casa Grande.
The celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 29 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Robert Kley officiating.
Mrs. Manship was born on April 13, 1916, in De Witt, Iowa, and was a daughter of Charles and Lillian Hunter. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in education. She then taught home economics in Iowa. After moving to Arizona she continued her education at what is now Arizona State University and received a master’s degree in education. She was a substitute teacher in Picacho and Eleven Mile Corner. She also taught fifth grade in Coolidge until retiring in 1983.
She was a member of American Association of University Women and of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church since 1956. She adored her grandchildren and helped raise them. She enjoyed travel and had a large network of friends that allowed her to live at home in later years.
Survivors include two sons, John R. Manship of San Antonio, Texas, and Raymond J. Manship of Cave Creek; a daughter, Mary Kay Wilson of Tucson; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman G.; four brothers; and a sister.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
