Martha Holmes

MARICOPA — Martha Laverne Holmes, 69, of Maricopa died on May 18, 2013, at home.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. The funeral will follow at 10, with Darwin Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Holmes was born on Dec. 11, 1943, in Checotah, Okla. She was an operator at Hexcel Corp. in Casa Grande. She enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing, going to the beach and casinos, playing golf and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Terry Lara of Coolidge and Karen Leary of Casa Grande; four sons, Mitchell Holmes of Casa Grande, Larry Holmes of Coolidge, Karl Holmes of Bakersfield, Calif., and Jimmy Holmes of Coolidge; her mother, Lorene Rocha of Casa Grande; a sister, Patsy Edwards; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her father, George Dornan; and two sisters, Viola and Phyllis.
