Marie C. McDonald, 78, of Eloy, Arizona, passed away on June 10, 2021 at her home with family.

She was born to James and Minnie Carroll on June 10, 1943 in Atalla Alabama. She also had a dog that recently went over the rainbow bridge that she adored, Girly.

Marie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Anthony M. Marie loved helping and caring for people and went to school to became a nurse. She worked at several different hospitals over her 40+ years of nursing and spent her last 13 years of nursing working at the Arizona Department of Corrections, where she retired. After retiring, she did something she had always wanted to do…bought a motor home and she and her husband traveled the United States, stopping at times to visit family in Alabama and Georgia. They had long stays at various KOA camps, from Florida to Montana, where she made many friends along the way. She loved Montana and would have stay there as long as they could until they had to come back to Arizona. She loved God and she loved her country. Marie also loved to sew, crochet, needlepoint…if it involved thread, yarn or material she loved it. At any given time when she was able, she would have some type of project going on, whether it be for family or friends. She loved giving to others.

A small memorial service will be held at J. Warren Funeral Home in Casa Grande, Arizona on June 18th starting promptly at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, Marie had previously let it be known she would like donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory.
